My quasi-educated guess would be around 7 yards. Depending on the size and style of the chair, it could be as low as 6 yards or as high as 8 yards.
If the fabric has a repeating pattern or the chair has a skirt you may need as much as 11 yards. Take digital pictures of the chair from the front, back and side and measure it height, width and depth. Take the pictures with you when you are looking for upholstery fabric and ask for assistance with the yardage.
It depends largely on the project, but if, for example, you wanted to cover a chair with a light cotton fabric, you would definitely want to back it with some heavyweight iron-on interfacing to strengthen it. Hope this helps.
I feel that spray adhesive might be your best bet. However, it may stain your fabric through to the outside. Use a test piece before applying to the actual furniture.
I think that a LayZBoy is the best recliner for people with back trouble because it is very well built and has great support.
There are several ways for the non-professional upholster to ‘cheat’ if you will, when it comes to upholstery. It can be a very time consuming task, and a certain level of practical skill and manual dexterity is required. So, this is why many people will take shortcuts when it comes to redecorating old furniture. • First find a chair that has some unattractive upholstery that is definitely in need of a make-over. • Dismantle the chair into separate parts, this will enable you to get a good look at what work is required and take some measurements of the amount of fabric required. • Visit your local fabric store, find a design that’s appealing to you and will fit in well with your interior décor. Hand over the measurements you made earlier to the sales assistant. They will then cut the length of the fabric off. • Now go back to the chair and make sure the fabric has been stripped off. We would recommend you draw a plan of the chair before you start to attach the new fabric onto the chair, make sure you include all parts of the chair that’s going to be covered – including the back and front arms • Make sure you use what is termed within the industry as a “stretcher”- basically, this is scrap material which is sewn to the bottom of the fabric pieces and aids you in getting a better cut. • Finally when you’ve cut out the new fabric you’re going to put on the chair, make sure it’s as taught as possible, and then before securing it ensure any staples or tacks are going to be covered up by the panels. This goes to show amateurs can upholster their furniture, but for more complex items of furniture that require greater skill and precision it’s always best to enlist the help of professionals.
The backs should come off by lifting them straight up. You may have to push in on each side where the hinges attach. The fabric may have a flap that covers the hinge on the side of the back.
The main benefit of a recliner lift chair is the ease and boost to one's back and particularly, the lower back. One can recline for hours after a hard day at work, or even after a good meal.
I have a customer that brought in a older bradington young recliner . It has a hydrolic sylinder that lets the back down and its bad . It has no numbers on the chair . Could i get a new cylinder for it and how?

Finding time to take a break when you work at home is a difficult proposition. Consider an office chair recliner that will at least let you sit back and close your eyes for a bit.
A recliner chair works by using a mechanism that allows the backrest to tilt back and the footrest to rise, providing a comfortable position for the user to relax and recline. Typically, a lever or button is used to control the reclining function of the chair.
A recliner. Often called by the brand name "La-Z-Boy".
A wall-away recliner is one that allows the recliner to be close to the wall (3") when upright and will STILL be only 3" from the wall when fully reclined. Most recliners extend backward, waw recliners move forward into the room. Most recliners retain the "chair-like" 90 degree position which rocks back intact whereas waws split at the back-seat intersection to lay flat. Wall-aways save lots of space.
