It mainly depends on the tree(s) you have at your disposal, I used to simply get a couple of old 4ft boards, and nail them to to branches running side by side with a small gap inbetween, i would strongly advise that the edge of the plank is in conjunction with the edge of the tree. The canopy gave a little rain cover, it was great! Feel free to be more specific. All the best.

There are two things that matter: structural soundness and minimizing damage to the tree.

The easiest way for a novice to comply with the two rules is to support the tree house from the ground on posts and to have no part of the structure touching the tree, but build around the tree giving it room to grow and sway.

If you want the tree or trees to support the structure, then you either need to do a lot of research or get help from a professional tree house builder.
