You can finish a hemline a number of ways:

• If the fabric is knit or bias cut, you can simply trim it and let it go unfinished, and it won't unravel.
• If the fabric is woven and NOT bias cut, you can leave it unfinished for a "deconstructed" look
• You can sew a zig-zag stitch at the hem for a deconstructed look that won't unravel
• You can turn the fabric up approx. 1/2 inch it, press it, and sew it for a traditional finished hem.
• You can turn up the fabric approx. 1/2 inch, press it, turn it up another 1/2 inch, press it, and hand-sew a blind hem.
• You can sew a rolled hem with a rolled hem presserfoot on a sewing machine.
• You can sew a rolled hem on a serger
