What color do you get by mixing navy blue and yellow?

It will take some patience and time, but to do this properly with primary colors, mix equal parts of yellow and red to get a true orange. From this mixture, very carefully mix in 3/4 parts of blue. This will come close, but very carefully add a touch more blue in tiny increments until you get the tone of navy you want.

All primaries mixed in equal portions makes black, not gray. This is why you use less blue. Purple and blue make a deep violet.

Blue with a little black added to it if your talking artistically (such as with paint). Blue itself is a basic color. To darken add black, the more black the darker the blue. Just the opposite with white.

since navy is a really super dark shade of blue, mixing blue and black should work

light Blue with a little black or grey. Just make sure you don't add too much black or grey cause that's hard to change back :)
