Having been in the Motor Trade for over 40 years and owned a Crash Repair Shop for 25. Your Question is not to easy to Answer as you most probaly know there are quite a few types of finishes and Enamels.
Most people in the trade don't like Enamels although Acrylic Enamel is the best of the worst.
This type of finish is Good but not Excellent as it can dull after a few years and cannot be Buff Polished properly like Acrylic Lacquer.
If you are going to paint your car go for Protec Acrylic Lacquer it's easy to Spray on and if you get a run, a quick rub down and Blow in another coat of paint . It dries very quickly and you should get a Gloss of the gun, if you don't when it's fully dry after a few days a quick Buff over will give you a fantastic finish.
2 Pack finishes are very expensive are also Excelent but don't use this in your shed as it contains nasties that can ruin your health.

Acrylic Enamel is the easiest. You don't have to put clear on it. Just prime it, sand it, paint it.
Most likely auto enamel paint.
That would depend on what type of auto paint. With base coat on most brands, the drying time is controlled by which solvent you use to thin the paint. With acrylic enamel it's drying time is controlled with solvent and a hardener.
A lacquer-based clearcoat. Enamel is never used for auto paint.
Auto paint supply company can match any color; will also have enamel or urethane paint which should work well.
I understand that auto shops carry spray paint for vinyl.
No it will cause big problems. You should sand down to paint before adding a new coat of clearcoatAnswer: There is nothing wrong with putting a new coat of clear over old, as long as it is well sanded , and the underlying clearcoat is in sound condition. It is necessary to do it when spot- repairing a clear -over- base metallic paintjob.
yes u can use clear coat on ur enamel paint but first u hav to put primer then paint coats two - three coats depending on the requirements and then apply the clear coat single or double as required and most important thing is drying time shud be given in between each coats.
Yes, you can. First wash it with a thinner to remove all greasy handprints etc. -Then spray with aerosol auto enamel or Rustoleum. I've sprayed 2 in the past, came out quite well.
Auto paint can be found on the Menards, Home Depot and Hobo websites. There are other website that has auto paint such as Walmart, Sears, Auto Zone and Pep Boys.
To use auto paint colors effectively, you need to have the right tools, such as a paint sprayer. Going to Auto Body School will also help because they would teach you how to apply the paint correctly.
Auto paint jobs can be handled by auto dealerships and many auto repair shops. There are also stores such as Maaco that specialize in painting autos.
