Velcro is a way of temporarily sticking things together. Generally there is a flat cloth with tiny loops and one with tiny hooks. They each get sewn to surfaces that would be stuck like the flap of a bag as well as the bag itself. When the loops and the hooks get pushed together, the hooks hook onto the loops making them stuck unless pulled apart with some force.
The name Velcro is a brand name so it is found under many other different names depending on who makes it.
