The difference in woven and knit garments lies in the construction of the fabrics. The knit garment is tougher and better able to withstand wear, but the woven garment has the ability to be more versatile in it's construction. The woven garment is the most common in clothing construction. Because of the ability to cut the material and shape it by means of sewing, it is far more popular in the garment industry. Material made by weaving is thinner as a rule and is not prone to raveling in handling. This allows the garment maker to cut shapes that are not ordinarily available to the knitted garment. Garments made by this method can be embellished by any number of add on items such as buttons, woven in patterns, or different types of lace and contrasting materials sewn to the fabric. The knitted garment is softer and more supple because its thread is treated differently. Knitted is produced by using needles to pull threads up through the preceding threads to produce fabric. Items such as sweaters and stockings are made by the knitting method and will readily "give" in response to pressure of the body. The disadvantage to the knit garment is that it is easily damaged by pulling of one thread in the garment which will distort or even destroy the garment. Woven fabric is made of strands of warp going in one direction and strands of weft going 90 degrees to the warp and weaving in and out of the warp yarns. The resulting fabric has little stretch to it.

Knitted fabric is made of a single strand of yarn with row upon row of loops pulled through loops. The resulting fabric is stretchy. Knitting uses more yarn than weaving of similar dimensions.

Non woven fabrics' fibres are interlocked to create a fabric. So instead of taking fibers, spinning yarns and weaving or knitting the yarns, they go right from fiber to fabric. Wool felt is a good example the scales on the wool tangle, heat and pressure allow the fibers to become a fabric. Synthetic fibers can also create non woven fabrics, as they melt and a web of fibers can be heated so they are locked together by melting to create a fabric. Federal Express envelops are actually a fabric created from olefin fibers.

Knit fabrics are created by looped yarns. They have more stretch than woven fabrics.

Knit is when the fabric is made of yarn that is knit. Knitting is when you take 2 needles and, well you can't really describe it online. Woven fabrics are made of yarn or wool. The yarn or wool is put on a loom where it is woven with the in and out motion of weaving. I have done both.

printed means that the pattern has been printed on to the cloth, pretty much like a computer printer puts words and pictures on a paper. Woven this time probably means that the pattern is in the cloth. By inserting and removing threads of different colors in a certain sequence as the cloth is woven it's possible to create a pattern or even a picture.
