For the Craftsman 257.798300, you should use a .065-inch diameter trimmer line, which is compatible with most standard spool systems. Look for a round or twisted line designed for general use to ensure optimal performance. Always refer to your user manual for specific recommendations or any restrictions on line types.
To wind a Ryobi weed wacker spool, first remove the spool from the trimmer. Then, wind the trimmer line around the spool in the direction indicated on the spool. Make sure to evenly distribute the line and avoid overlapping. Finally, reattach the spool to the trimmer and you're ready to use it.
To restring a Ryobi weed wacker, first remove the spool from the trimmer head. Cut a length of new trimmer line, usually around 10 feet. Insert the line into the spool following the arrows for direction. Wind the line evenly and tightly around the spool. Reattach the spool to the trimmer head and feed the line through the eyelets. Your Ryobi weed wacker is now restrung and ready to use.
The line should be put on the spool of a spin cast reel in a clockwise direction. This helps to prevent the line from tangling or spilling off the reel during use.
To change the spool on an RTE 115 trimmer, first, ensure the trimmer is turned off and unplugged for safety. Remove the old spool by pressing the release tabs on the spool cover and lifting it off. Then, insert a new spool by aligning it with the spool holder and ensuring the line feeds through the eyelets. Finally, replace the spool cover securely, and the trimmer is ready for use.
To perform a Ryobi trimmer string replacement, first turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool cover and take out the old string spool. Cut a new piece of trimmer line to the appropriate length and insert it into the spool. Wind the new line evenly onto the spool in the direction indicated on the spool. Reassemble the trimmer and test the new string before use.
To restring a Ryobi weed wacker, first, remove the spool from the trimmer head. Cut a length of new trimmer line, usually around 10 feet. Insert one end of the line into the hole in the spool and wind it in the direction indicated on the spool until it is full. Reattach the spool to the trimmer head and feed the line through the eyelets. Your Ryobi weed wacker is now restrung and ready to use.
Toro 1100 Heavy Duty Trimmer/Weeder. Insert flat blade screwdriver into one of the two window slots on spool. Twist screwdriver 1/4 turn. Spool will snap off. Hook one end of line into groove on spool allowing no more than 1/8 inch of line to protrude. Wind in the direction of arrows on spool in level rows. Wind no more than 50 feet and use up to .065" diameter string. Keep line tight on spool. Make a hook in the line when done winding and secure in groove with about three inches extra. Thread end of line through through eyelet. Spool and core are keyed. Align and and push to snap back on. Pull line free from groove in spool.

To properly reline a reel, first remove the old line and clean the spool. Then, tie the new line securely to the spool and wind it on evenly. Make sure the line is not twisted and adjust the tension as needed. Finally, trim any excess line and test the reel before use.
To replace the line on an E61511 line trimmer, first, ensure the trimmer is unplugged or the battery is removed for safety. Locate the spool on the trimmer head and remove it by pressing the tabs or unscrewing it, depending on the model. Remove the old line and wind the new line onto the spool according to the direction indicated, leaving equal lengths on both sides. Finally, reattach the spool to the trimmer head, making sure the line is properly threaded through the eyelets before use.
Unscrew the plastic "bump knob" in the center of the trimmer head and set it aside. The spool which holds the trimmer line can now be removed from the spindle in the center of the cutting head. There is a spring on the back side of the spool which can be removed and set aside so that you do not accidentally lose it. You will notice that the spool is divided into two sections much like the layers of a cake. Each layer of the spool is designed to hold approximately 6 feet of trimmer line. Cut two identical lengths of line 6 feet long. Take one piece and insert the end into the angled hole you will find bored into the spindle at the center of the spool. Each section of the spool has it's own hole to anchor the line. You must start with the innermost section of the spool (the one on the spring side of the spool). After inserting the line in the hole, wind it around the spool in the direction indicated by the arrows molded into the plastic of the spool. You will notice that the line winds in a direction that causes it to fold back at the insertion hole creating a secure anchor point. Continue winding until you reach the end of your 6 foot section of line. Snap the line into one of the notches molded into the tabs around the edge of the spool leaving 4 to 6 inches of line protruding from the notch. Repeat this process for the other section of the spool. Now snap the spring back onto the center of the spool and place the spool back onto the spindle in the center of the cutting head. As you place the spool back into position thread the two protruding ends of line through the reinforced holes in the shell of the cutting head. Press the spool into the head and rotate it slightly. The tabs on the spool should engage under some tabs in the shell to help hold everything in place while you screw the bump knob back into place. Finally, grasp both protruding pieces of line and pull outward to release them from the notches in the spool. If you find that you have too much cutting line exposed simply push in the spool and rotate clockwise to wind the excess back onto the spool. This sounds complicated but is really not. Buy a spare spool and keep it handy for quick reloads. These directions also apply to similar Homelite and John Deere trimmers which use a common cutting head. Kerry Hughes, Birmingham, AL
First release the spool from the reel. Then take a length of string and tie it to the spool use a small knot keep it tidy. You then wind the string onto the spool in a clockwise direction until it covers approx 1/8 of the capacity of the spool. You then attach the nylon fishing line or braid,to the string with a small tidy knot and try hiding the knot on the outer edge of the spool. You then lift up the bail arm of the reel and refit the spool and close the bail arm.You would then load your line onto the reel until 1-3mm from the top of the spool, Be sure to wind the lines reasonably tightly.
