i wanted to elaborate... the song itself is much louder so you can only hear it and the message is low so its not hearable unless the song itself is turned off. i am able to overlay music and recording using audacity and was thinking if i did this i could add messages into popular songs and when people hear it they subconsiously hear the songs and in turn feel the way it says, or quit smoking, etc...whatever message i add
It has been rumored throughout the years that many CD's that people listen to contain subliminal messages. The most common CD's that contain these messages are self help CD's that tend to play a lot of ambient noises and backwards messages that are believed to sink into your subconsciousness and make you do or believe things that are pertained to the author's message.

Yes, but not in the pop-cultural stereotype way. Seeing a micro-second advertisement isn't terribly effective. Subliminal messages can take many other forms, any thoughts conveyed "below the radar" of the listener or reader are subliminal. In commercials, smiling happy people shown using the product implies that using the product will lead to a better, happier life.
No, subliminal messaging is used a surprising amount. Having people wear shirts that have a message on them as the camera sweeps past them, placing a symbol around during the episode/movie/ad. It is used by many companies so there symbol or name seems familiar when you go to shop.

The Led Zeppelin subliminal message controversy primarily revolves around the song "Stairway to Heaven." Some listeners claimed that if played backward, certain phrases contained messages promoting satanic themes. However, these claims have been widely debunked as coincidental and a product of pareidolia, where people perceive familiar patterns in random stimuli. Led Zeppelin members have denied any intentional subliminal messaging in their music.

Yes, if you watch television or listen to the radio, you are subjected to subliminal messages frequently. Advertising agencies and corporations have long been aware of the neuropsychological effects of certain images and messages to the general public, and they use this information to best influence peoplet to buy their products. The most common are fast food commercials and branding effects. fMRIs (functional MRIs, sort of like scans of the brain working in real-time) have shown that people exposed to certain images or brand logos will have actual emotional/psychological responses, and these can be verified by watching different areas of the brain increase in activity after being subjected to these images. This is strong proof that branding effects and advertising have subliminal and deeply-rooted neuropsychological effects on the human brain.
