If you are just looking for a basic aluminum, steel or plastic hook for everyday crocheting, your local Walmart should have something adequate which will only cost a couple dollars. If you want to go beyond the basics, you might find hooks made of wood and other materials at those places, but would certainly find them at many online manufacturers such as Lion Brand and Brittany Needles. Amazon sells them too. There are others who do custom hooks such as Turn of the Century and Brainsbarn. Ebay and Etsy have many sellers as well. You can also get hooks that have batteries and are lighted for working at night.

Note that the "beyond basic" hooks will cost more than a simple aluminum hook from Walmart.
