Looking into the hood from the front, it is located behind the upper radiator hose on the passenger side and is bolted onto the plastic engine cover. It has two wire connectors on two sides which then connect to another set of wire harnesses.

the early Z32s had a recall on the ptu which is the power transistor unit which sends spark to the coilpacks
