All drywall is essentially the same. -It is almost always calcium dihydrate with some additives. What exactly those additives are depend on where you are using it. Tough Rock and Gold Bond are not universally available, but are essentially very similar. Tough Rock simply means it is regular calcium dihydrate drywall mix covered with re-cycled paper. This come from one of the biggest producers in the north west, Georgia Pacific. Gold Bond comes from National Gypsum, America's biggest drywall supplier. It is basically the same formula but with some mold resistance in the mix. This may be better in bathrooms and kitchens.

-If I am re-doing or building a new bathroom I always use a concrete or fibre board rather than plain calcium dihydrate, as these are far more moisture and mould resistant than any version of calcium dihydrate. My personal choice is Dens-Shield by Georgia Pacific.
