I seen on Oprah that this woman made swirls on a rug with Ritt dye. It looked really cool. i know theres companies that will come and dye your carpet for you though. Good luck!
Yes...I have done it. you make the Rit dye in 2 quarts of HOT water. use 2 new large household sponges and just dip one sponge into dye squeeze out to where its not too full~apply to a 12" X 12" area in circular motions and work outwards. take other sponge and remove excess. just like in Karate Kid one dye on and the other one dye off. it took 21 boxes for my living room and it's a family sized area. you get tired it took me 12hours to complete it. it was pretty but now after a kid, animals, and living in the country i need new flooring. lasted about 5+ years.
Yes, they do carry fabric dye! Hancock Fabrics has Rit dye and Tulip dye.
Rit dye is made up of combined acids and sodium chloride which makes it dangerous for human skin and hair. Rit dye is basically used for fabric and other materials.
Rit is a dye that comes in many colors. It is used to dye fabric all one color.
Soda ash is recommended when using Rit dye because it helps adjust the pH level of the water, allowing the dye to bond better with the fabric and create more vibrant, long-lasting colors. While soda ash is not always required, it is typically recommended for best results when using Rit dye.
The water should be between 140°F to 160°F when using Rit dye. This temperature range is ideal for the dye to fully dissolve and penetrate the fabric for optimal color absorption.
To achieve a chartreuse color using Rit dye, mix equal parts of yellow and green dye together. Start by immersing your fabric in the yellow dye bath, then add the green dye gradually until you reach the desired chartreuse shade. Follow the instructions on the Rit dye package for best results.
It depends on the type of fabric that you wish to dye, the dye type, brand and application process

can you use rit dye in a whirlpool cabrio dryer
RIT
NO! Rit dye is for fabric only. It is extremely toxic and can cause serious injury if used on a person's hair, or any other part of their body. Even the dust particles when pouring the powdered dye into the dye bath or washing machine can be harmful if breathed in, so you should also avoid doing that, as well.
