Low on refrigerant. Probably R-134A for that year model. I would hvae a mechanic put a set of gauges on it and see if it is empty first, plus it is the cheapest part. Most cars have a pressure switch in the line which disable the compressor if they are to low on refrigerant; this is to protect the system. If it is empty the average cost for a mechanic to fill it is about 120 bux, and takes about 15 minutes....or if you go to an auto parts store, you can buy a do it yourself recharge kit for betweek 20 and 30 bux. Make sure you follow the instructions though, because if you over fill the system and try to run it you will more than likely blow a line and end up costing yourself at least a few hundred bucks...
