Check fuse under the hood of your truck (engine compartment), NOT under the dash.
In a 2003 Nissan Frontier, the fuse for the backup lights is located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. You should look for a fuse labeled for the backup lights or reverse lights. Additionally, there may be a relay associated with the backup lights, which can typically be found in the engine compartment fuse box. Always consult the owner's manual for specific fuse and relay locations.
Try bypassing the reverse light switch that plugs into the transmission. If your reverse lights come on, voila! Problem solved. Buy a new switch.
check for blown fuses
check reverse light switch on transmission.
In the Nissan Frontier, the dimmer switch for the dashboard lights is typically located on the left side of the dashboard, near the headlight controls. It may be a dial or a knob that can be turned to adjust the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual for specific details, as the location can vary slightly by model year.
the Nissan has 4 two very bright and two a little bit rubish but it is good to have i don't like Nissan but it has 4 ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Nissan Versa typically has two reverse lights, one on each side of the rear. These lights activate when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, providing illumination to the area behind the car. Always consult the vehicle’s owner manual for specific details about your model year.
There is another fuse box under the hood and next to the battery. This fuse controls the horn, dashboard lights, and the tail lights.
I just had this problem on my 98 Frontier because the brake lights were staying on. I had to replace the brake light switch and the brake light button for it to go out.
To change the reverse lights on a Nissan 350Z, first, open the trunk and remove the plastic cover by unscrewing or unclipping it, depending on the model year. Locate the reverse light bulb socket on the back of the tail light assembly, twist it counterclockwise to remove it, and then pull the old bulb out. Insert the new bulb into the socket, reattach it by twisting it clockwise, and finally, replace the plastic cover securely. Test the reverse lights to ensure they work properly.
Hopefully, you used a 12v. test light. Did you check the wiring and connections at the reverse light switch on the transmission. This could also be called the back up switch. There may be such a switch on the shift selector. Buy a Haynes or Chilton Total car care manuals.
check for blown light bulbs ,then check for broken wire at lights
