If the car sounds like it wants to run, but wont stay running, and wont get up to the standard idle speed, you may have a bad camshaft sensor. The dealership will call it a crankshaft sensor, but it is located on the back of the intake cam. It looks like the bottom half of a distributer. What it does is tell the ECU when to send a spark to each cylinder. When my timing belt broke, it took that sensor out with it. That could be your problem. Dont buy a new one if you can find a used one. They cost over 300 dollars new.

The fuel pump only runs for a couple seconds after the initial start attempt, then shuts off. Crank the engine for a few seconds. Then turn it off and then do it again for a few more seconds. Do this several times in order to get the fuel to the engine. After a few attempts, the engine should start.. Hope this helps...
