I had this same problem. I took it to the dealer and they said it shuddered because the rear wheels were not free to rotate because something was wrong with the solenoid in the rear differential. It cost me around $400 to repair. It may be accompanied by the AT transmission light flashing a few times when the car is started. hope this helps.
