All 1998 4 cylinder 1.6, 2.2. & 2.3 Liter are interference engines. The cam belt must be replaced every 105,000 miles or serious engine damage will occur if the belt breaks.

Does the 98 Honda Passport v6 have an interference engine?

No this V6 is not an interference engine. However the cam belt should be replaced at 75,000 miles. Reason being is that the 1998 Honda Passport is nothing more than a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, and was not built by Honda and does not have a Honda engine. It has an Izuzu engine.
