I have just gone through 4, yes four compressors, condensor and belts on a 2000 grand vitara. I was told finally today the reason the compressors contine to squeal with each one is that the system has rust fragments in it from ( running it dry ?)and locking up the compressor ie.... the squeal, the belts have also been replaced and to No surprise the whole thing needs to be replaced at a tune of $2, 500 The company that we took it to spoke with the manufactor of the compressors and stated the only way to relieve the SQUEAL was to replace the whole airconditioning system due to the fragments entering the whole system. Hope this helps
AC Compressor
Most likely a bad bearing on compressor pulley.
Your air conditioner may be making a loud squealing noise because the AC compressor, which helps cool the air, could be malfunctioning. This could be causing the noise you are hearing.
You can tell your car's air compressor is failing if you notice a lack of cold air from the air conditioning system, unusual noises like grinding or squealing, or if the air conditioning system cycles on and off frequently. Additionally, if you see any visible leaks of refrigerant around the compressor, it may indicate a failure. Dashboard warning lights related to the AC system may also appear. If you suspect an issue, it's best to have it checked by a professional.
Bad belt. Worn tensioner. Bad compressor.
The air conditioning compressor pressurizes the refrigerant sending it through a series of chambers. This compressor is normally called a centrifugal compressor.
It compressed the refrigerant. It may also have an air compressor if the vehicle has an air ride system.
Yes you need an air compressor that will give you an adjustable air suspension.
Bad bearing in compressor?
An air compressor
The air conditioning compressor is driven by a belt. Check the tension on the belt. If there is more than 1/2 inch of play in the belt, tighten it.
locate compressor on left inner fender under air filter box which will need to be removed unplug wire at compressor there are three nuts holding the compressor in. You get at them from under the car. lift out old compressor.
