Unlike the newer models Hondas, the clocks in the older ones are NOT Light Emitting Diodes (LED's), which rarely if ever burn out, the are Liquid Crystal Diodes (LCD's) which are subject to going dim with age and eventually burning out. The only remedy for you is to replace the clock.
