Yes you do. The tool is sold at Autozone and is called a brake caliper tool. It looks like a metal box frame with tabs sticking off of it. You will use the tool to turn the caliper piston clockwise back into the piston. It is mounted on an internal screw. I found this out firsthand when I couldn't compress the piston with my c-clamp like most brake jobs I've done in the past and ultimately had to buy a rebuilt caliper.
There is a special tool but it is not needed. All you need is a large flat head screw driver. You will be able to rotate the piston by placing the flat head screw driver into 1 of the slots and turning it. The special tool fits all 4 slots to rotate the piston so your pads can clear the rotor but a screw driver will work just fine. This is what I did to complete my rear brake job.

To reset the brake caliper on a 2006 Acura TL, you typically need to retract the caliper piston back into the housing. This can be done using a brake caliper tool or a C-clamp to gently push the piston back in. Ensure the brake fluid reservoir cap is loosened to prevent pressure buildup. Once the piston is fully retracted, you can reinstall the caliper and brake pads as needed.

Reinsert the socket back into the assembly, ensuring it locks into place, and finally, replace the access panel. Test the brake lights to confirm they are functioning properly.
