There is a compartment box between the driver seat and the passenger seat. At the bottom of the box you can find the adjusting nut.
under the back seat
I have a manual 96 Mazda Protege, with the parking break located behind the shifter. The adjustment bolt is located right next to the parking break on the left side (drivers side) of the parking break handle. you will have to remove the rubber cover around the parking break shaft in order to see the bolt.
Check the fuse. Then check the wiring.
Make sure your brake fluid is full!! I had this problem on my 96 it was the emergency back pedal make sure it is pulled back all the way up
According to Chilton's car repair manual, the parking brake on the '96 achieva adjusts itself each time you put on the parking brake. When it does not work properly anymore, you have to change the entire cable. I have purchased a cable through my local GM parts dealer but have not yet put the cable on. It looks relative straight forward. A good Chilton's or Haynes repair manual tells alot. Martin Wilson (mcwilson60@knology.net)
What is your problem. Our 96 Camry measures 1.6 miles for every one mile driven. Coincidence that it's the same measurement as a kilometer? Toyota say yes, but we are going to delve further.
I have the same problem. Some times mine will flash or flicker, like there is a short. I was told that it is the brake sencor, located down under the parking brake. hope this helps!!
No, it's not.
No, engine from 97 will not fit 96.

The rear aren't easy since you have the self adjusters and parking brake mechanisms to contend with. Get a manual from the parts sore.
There are fuses in two locations. Some are in the box next to the battery, others are under the dash, to the side of the parking brake pedal.
