ON MY 96 ACCORD I PULL THE BOOT DOWN (IT HAS A CLIP) THEN TURN THE KNOB COUNTER CLOCK WISE. wHEN YOU GET A NEW ONE YOU JUST SLIP IT ON AND IT SHOULD COME WITH SCREWS TO TIGHTEN IT UP. Jose

you have to take the center console loose and raise it over the top of the shift knob. there you will finrd that the shift bag is attached to the shift knob by a zip tie. break the zip tie and unscrew the shift knob. that's it.

In order to take the shift knob off a manual 93 Accord get one or two(I used two,across from each other) flathead screwdrivers and place in between the bottom of the knob and top of plastic chrome ring. The knob should pop up, get the boot off the two tabs on the knob and unscrew
You should be able to depress the sides of the silver ring to remove the boot. After this is done just unscrew the knob. The new one can then be threaded.
If you have amanual transmission You have to push down on the plastic ring above the shifter boot. after you push down the ring, Now you can unscrew the shifter knob. IF you have a automatic transmission you have to remove the screw on the side of the shifter knob. (Be careful the button on the shifter knob is spring loaded)

you gotta trist it off anti clockwise but a car that old it can be pretty hard to get off, trying to get mine off atm
Try twisting it and then get a manual for it. Try Chiltons or Haynes.
