Hi,
we have an 01 maxima also and a friend works for Nissan, he put the car on his anilizer and told us it was the rear brake sensor. They are different so you would have to get it checked out at your dealer
Tom
I took my 2001 Nissan Maxima in today with the same problem. Midas wants $415.67 to replace the right rear ABS sensor. I found it online for $136 at PartsGeeks. No, I haven't ordered it but that is a lot cheaper then the almost $300 they quoted me for the part, $68 for labor and almost $15 for another part (whatever that is) plus taxes, etc.
Good luck I am going to call places Friday since tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and everything is closed.
How many running lights does a 2001 Nissan Maxima have ?
no
The 2013 Nissan Maxima does not come equipped with daytime running lights (DRLs) as a standard feature. However, some trim levels or packages may offer optional features that include DRLs. It's best to check the specific model's features or the owner's manual for confirmation.

The ECU on a 2007 Nissan Maxima is located on the dash of the vehicle. This is used to reset various lights and other functions on the vehicle.
The 2004 Nissan Maxima fog light fuse will be the number 14 fuse. The number 14 fuse will be in the second column, fourth from the top.
The 2004 Nissan Maxima fog light fuse will be the number eight fuse. The number eight fuse will be in the first column, third from the bottom.
my 93 maxima se is doing the same thing, but the fog lights are also on. they dont stay on, they turn themselves on. i do not know what causes this.
You may have to replace the headlight switch since your tail lights are tied into the same switch.
