In an emergency, I have used a small nail wedged between the clamp and the post. Not generally accepted practice, but it has gotten me on the road again. Better is a shim. They are specially made just for the situation you have. Go to the bottom of the page here: http://www.solarseller.com/battery_post_connectors_conversions_adapters_repair.htm good luck
Disconnect the battery cables. The battery has a clamp holding it in, probably along the bottom edge. Remove the clamp bolt. Pick up the battery. Reverse process for installation.
HIC are slightly larger than standard bars and require an oversized clamp along with an HIC shim and cap.
Disconnect the Regal battery cables. Find the battery clamp then remove it. Lift the battery out, then put the new one in. install the clamp, then connect the battery cables.
disconnect the battery cables. find the battery clamp and remove it. Lift the battery out, then set then new one in place. Install the clamp, then connect the battery cables.
Look at the bottom of the battery for a clamp that fastens to the bottom of the battery. The clamp is on the windshield side of the battery not the grill side. It is fastened to the body of the vehicle with a bolt that once removed will allow the battery to be lifted out of its position.
Disconnect the battery. Remove the outer bolt entirely. Loosen the inner bolt. Slide the starter shim in over the inner bolt and line it up with the outer bolt hole to get the outer bolt back in. Tighten the bolts. Start with a thin shim first and work your way bigger if needed.
A shim is a thin washer designed to take up excessive endplay on a shaft
Something is not right. Are you connecting the positive & negative cables to the corresponding + & - posts on the battery? Sounds like you have them reversed. If you have them connected right then just add a piece of metal to the clamp to take up the slack or buy a new clamp.
Lift the seat up all the way and on the right hand side you will see the battery. You will need a battery charger with relatively small clamps. Pull the red plastic cover back from the hot terminal and connect the hot clamp from the battery charger. Then connect the ground clamp to the ground terminal on the battery. Be sure to set your battery charger on 12 volts
disconnect the 97 Thunderbirds battery cables. Find the battery hold down and remove it. Lift the battery out, then lower the new one in. Install the clamp and hook up the cables.
The same way you remove the battery in any other vehicle.... disconnect the ground clamp, then the positive clamp. Take the bolt out of the retaining block and lift the battery out.
Check you battery cables. The clamp on that connects to the battery is a know issue. Not a big deal the part is about $12 and you do not have to purchase the entire cable. Just the clamp.
