A burnt-out coil in a Hyundai Elantra typically refers to a failure in the ignition coil, which is responsible for converting the battery's voltage to a higher voltage needed to ignite the fuel-air mixture in the engine's cylinders. When the ignition coil fails, it can result in poor engine performance, misfiring, and difficulty starting the vehicle. Symptoms may include rough idling, decreased fuel efficiency, and a check engine light. Replacing a faulty ignition coil is essential for restoring optimal engine function.
