Open the hood. On the back side of each headlamp assembly is a 10mm bolt which is attached to a gear. In the evening, park the car on a level surface 10-15 from a wall. Either mark the wall, or remember where you start from to adjust the lamps (vertical adjustment only). I forget which direction raises or lowers, but you can access the bolt fairly easily with a 1/4 drive ratchet and a 10mm socket. You will have to remove the battery bracket (Hybrid models) and perhaps move the battery (non-hybrids) to access the bolt. We adjusted our Civic and it makes a world of difference. Just make sure you don't adjust them too high, as you may blind other drivers and/or be cited for having mal-aligned headlamps.

Turn on the headlights and mark the center of the light beam on the wall with tape. Use a Philips screwdriver to turn the adjustment screws located on the headlight assembly—one for vertical adjustment and one for horizontal—until the top of the beam aligns with the tape mark. Repeat the process for both headlights as needed.
