The "Idle Air Control" valve is not adjustable, it is a computer controlled motorized valve that controls the engine idle speed.
It can be removed and cleaned.
They wear out and need to be replaced.
On some injection systems you can adjust the closed position of the throttle plate to change the operation range of this valve.
But they are not adjustable
"Idle system control malfunction", which means, there is a problem with the volume of air going into your engine, via the IAC valve., If your car, when you start it, isn't accelerated up to aprox.,1000 rpm, and then decelerates in a minute or two, it´s likely the IAC valve is done for., Or if the car stays in high rpm, or dies out, then, most definetly its the IAC valve.

The IAC VALVE is located on the left hand side the passenger side that is. You should see a brown and purple hook ups and will see four bolts.

You don't. If you are having an issue with idling check the IAC Valve.
You should check the IAC valve and the MAF sensors both can cause stalling.
The 1999 Nissan Pathfinder with the 3.3L V6 has the idle air control (IAC) valve directly below the throttle body towards the front of the vehicle. The IAC is a black cylinder secured with two screws and has a snap on wiring harness attached.
Check for a sticking or dirty throttle plate, and the IAC or the Idle air control valve.
you don't, the idle air control IAC valve does it automatically. If your idle is off it has a problem like a vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, faulty or dirty IAC and others.
