Warm up engine. With the valve cover removed, loosen one rocker arm at a time until it clatters. Now, slowly tighten that rocker arm until it stops and give it a 1/4 turn. Go to the next one. That's it. You'll make quite a mess that way, but it will work if you don't mind oil all over yourself and the car. To change the heater core in a 1963 Chevy Impala, disconnect the negative battery cable and loosen the radiator cap. Remove glove box door and remove wiring connected to the heater core. Then remove the heater core from under the dash and replace with new.
