There are two sprockets one in the head attached to the camshaft and the other one is in the block attached to the crank. There will be a dimple or mark on each of these sprockets. They should be facing each other. The bottom side facing up and the top sprocket with the timing mark facing down. Install your belt on the sprockets like so release your tensioner and your in business. Make sure your number one pistion is set at top dead center on the compression stroke in order to set your timing correctly.

On a Peugeot 306, the timing marks are typically located on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover. You can find a mark on the crankshaft pulley that aligns with a corresponding mark on the timing cover. Additionally, there may be timing marks on the camshaft sprocket, which should align with the cylinder head. It's essential to ensure these marks align correctly during timing belt replacement or engine maintenance.

What are the timing marks for a 99 Honda passport 3.2?

For a 1999 Honda Passport with a 3.2L engine, the timing marks are located on the crankshaft and the camshaft pulleys. The crankshaft timing mark is typically a notch or arrow on the crankshaft pulley, which should align with the pointer on the engine block when the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke of cylinder one. The camshaft timing marks are on the camshaft gears and should align with the marks on the cylinder head. Proper alignment of these marks is crucial for correct timing during installation or maintenance.

How do you align the timing belt marks on a 1983 Toyota Corolla SR5?

To align the timing belt marks on a 1983 Toyota Corolla SR5, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder number one. Align the crankshaft timing mark with the indicator on the timing cover, then position the camshaft timing marks so they are horizontal and aligned with the marks on the cylinder head. Once both marks are aligned, you can install the timing belt, ensuring it is properly tensioned before reassembling the components. Always double-check the alignment before starting the engine to prevent any damage.

Where are the timing marks on a1993 Acura Legend?

On a 1993 Acura Legend, the timing marks can be found on the crankshaft pulley and the timing belt cover. The crankshaft pulley has a series of notches that align with a mark on the timing belt cover, typically a raised or painted line. Additionally, the camshaft pulleys have marks that should align with the cylinder head. It's essential to ensure all these marks are correctly aligned for proper engine timing.
