Turn the key to the accessory position. If you cycle the key from the ACC position to the ON position without starting it and then back to the ACC position that is 1 cycle.
Now I have found that if you cycle the key four or five times the dash lights will click on and off indicating it has been bypassed.
This has worked for me on a 2005 Kia Sportage when the key is turned on and the car with the key in the middle blinks 5 times indicating the immobilizer is active.
another solution if your key is an immobilizer which is inserted into the ignition. first remove the plastic trim cover over the steering wheel so you can remove the trim ring on the ignition which is part of the immobilizer system. now insert a good key through this ring and secure the key with twist ties. Set the ring aside leaving all wires hooked up. you cannot reinstall the ring. now you can use any key that will fit your ignition to start your vehicle as you have defeated the system.

Bypassing the immobilizer on a Kia Pregio van is not recommended, as it can compromise the vehicle's security and may be illegal. If you are experiencing issues with the immobilizer, it’s best to consult a professional locksmith or an authorized Kia service center. They can diagnose the problem and provide a legitimate solution without risking damage to your vehicle.

The code P1614 on a 2001 Kia Sportage indicates a problem related to the immobilizer system, specifically an issue with the key or the engine control unit (ECU) recognizing the key. This can be caused by a faulty key, a malfunctioning immobilizer system, or issues with the ECU itself. To resolve this, you may need to reprogram the key or check the immobilizer components for faults. It's advisable to consult a professional mechanic for proper diagnosis and repair.
