From everything I have ever seen, no. I have not come across anything suggesting an RX7 ever had AWD.
You will need to remove the transmission to replace the clutch slave.
To replace the clutch on a 1988 Mazda MX-6, first, disconnect the battery and lift the car for access. Remove the transmission by detaching the drive shafts, shifter linkage, and any necessary brackets or mounts. Once the transmission is out, take off the old clutch and pressure plate, clean the flywheel, and install the new clutch components. Finally, reassemble in reverse order, ensuring everything is aligned correctly before reconnecting the battery and testing the clutch operation.
You have to drop the engine and the trans Good luck
