easy fix, just open the tailgate and on the inner side of the light there will be two Phillips head screws. undo both of the screws and grab the inner side of the light. with a little force the light should pop right out, and you will be able to unplug it. ive done it right in the parking lot of an autozone with nothing but a screw driver. the light is only held in by friction fittings once you take the two screws out.
