Directly behind the head light bulb is a cap that comes off by twisting it a quarter turn. Take off the cap. The bulb is held in place by a spring clip. Undo the clip (it'll be self explanatory if you've gotten this far). Pull out the bulb and put in the new one. It only looks hard. The passenger side has more room to work, so you may want to do that side first to get the feel before doing the driver's side.
If this doesn't help you, drive the car to a shop and realize you have the mechanical ability of a 2 year old.

If the manual is the same as the 2007 Mazda 3, its pretty comprehensive. Basically pull the rubber booty, twist the bulb, remove the bulb. There is a sub-assembly attached to the bulb that you have to remove and put on the new bulb. Attach the wire, twist into the housing, put the rubber booty back on...you're good to go.
