I would go to the junk jard, and take out entire governing body.. Take out the transmission oil pan, and than take out oil filter (4 bolts) and unscrew entire governing body and replace it.. If I am not mistaking it is same governing body as 1.5l engine accent-transmssion.. Those are camon, but transmission for 1.6l engine, accent, is very hard to find.. Anyways both transmissions are having 6 gouverning selenoids.. _Sorry if I spelled stuff wrong-but in all reality they should be same..
Good luck
if it's an automatic you can replace it with any accent automatic transmission from 1995 to 1999, you will have to change the neutral safety switch on the transmission on some trans. cheers!!!!!

I have a 2008 Hyundai Accent GLS and just had the timing belt and spark plug replacement and 60,000 mile transmission svc done at the same time. It took just over 3 hours at the Hyundai dealer.
its on the side of the transmission facing the front of the vehicle... the drainer is on the bottom and it is a 24mm bolt..
with a screw driver
just change it
A bad transmission solenoid will cause hard shifting and can eventually damage the unit. You should change the solenoid if it is bad.
The 2008 Hyundai Accent typically requires about 6.5 quarts of transmission fluid when performing a complete fluid change with a filter replacement. If you're only topping off, it generally takes less than a quart, depending on the current level. Always check the owner's manual for specific details and recommendations for the type of transmission fluid to use.
To change the clutch on a Hyundai Accent, first, disconnect the battery and lift the vehicle for access. Remove the transmission by detaching the drive axles, shift linkage, and any electrical connections. Once the transmission is out, unbolt the old clutch from the flywheel, clean the surface, and install the new clutch and pressure plate. Finally, reassemble the transmission and components, ensuring everything is properly secured before reconnecting the battery and testing the vehicle.
