The rear cup holder has a 10mm bolt that needs to be removed, then the whole center cover can come out. There are 6 clips on the oval-shaped dome that the shifter sits in (two in front, two in back, one on the left, one on the right) that need to pried open. Pull that whole piece up and there is a little light on the left side. Just pull it straight out, put in a new one, and reassemble everything.
To change the automatic shifter light in a Toyota Echo, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and in park. Remove the trim piece around the shifter by gently prying it off, usually with a plastic trim tool to avoid damage. Once exposed, locate the bulb socket, twist it counterclockwise to remove, and replace the old bulb with a new one. Reassemble the trim piece securely after the replacement.
To change the shifter cable on a 2004 Toyota Echo, first, ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. Disconnect the battery, then remove the center console and the old shifter cable from the shifter and transmission. Install the new shifter cable in reverse order, making sure it is properly adjusted and secured. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the shifter for proper operation.
Look in the trunk, there is cover for the brake light, remove and you will have access to change the bulb.
