you need to remove the entire dash board. i wish there was a shortcut, but there just isn't. this is quite a project, set yourself a day to do it. i did mine in winter (yay) the blower motor is just above the passengers foot, the heater core is above and to the left of that. drop the stearing column. get the screws out of the defrost vents. disconnect the two heater hoses going into it from the other side of the firewall. i believe there will be a crossbeam behind the dashboard that will have to come out as well.
