To change the light bulb in the gear shift indicator of a 2001 Nissan Xterra, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the center console by unscrewing any visible screws and gently prying it away from the dashboard. Locate the bulb socket behind the gear shift indicator, twist it counterclockwise to remove it, replace the old bulb with a new one, and then reassemble the console. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the new bulb.
No it doesnt have 1. U just have ro set 1 of ur trips to know when to change it again
i do not yet doing that but i just know that the light for the gearshift is located at the dash board light
On my 2002 Nissan Xterra I had to remove 4 screws from the front bumper and wheel well and then I was able to get to the back side of the side marker light and remove the nut in order to get to the light bulb. i don't need to change just the bulb. The entire light assembly must be replaced. The reflector is broken. i cannot get wires to release.
Emissons problem
I have a 2001 Xterra which gets poor mileage and I have driven over 30 miles after the light came on on the highway.
Yes.
Try disconnecting the battery.
I think it means you need to check your engine.
