Should be a plug on the side of transmission Low fluid might have caused the sychonizers (?) to overheat
There are several things that can cause your Honda Accord station wagon automatic transmission not to shift down. The most common cause is low transmission fluid.
an input speed sensor on the transmission that will usually cause problems with 3rd or 4th gear, get yourself a manual for the location of the sensor and replace.
your cluch could be gone!
The primary cause for the drive light to flash on a Honda Accord is a malfunction in the transmission. Error codes from the vehicle's computer can be read using an OBDII reader.
Depends on what the problem is. One warning I can provide. Use only genuine Honda ATF fluid in your Accord. The use of any other fluid will cause problems. I suggest you seek out a professional to repair the transmission.
1988 accord will not go into 5 gear
Computer has detected a problem with the transmission.
The transmission may need a flush and filter, or in my 92 accord I solved the problem merely by changing the transmissions computer.
The S light means you have the transmission in Sport Mode. This will cause the transmission to delay shifting to a slightly higher RPM.
Use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1 transmission fluid. Do not use any other fluid no matter what anyone tells you is a substitute. There is no substitute for this fluid and the use of any other fluid will cause your Honda transmission to not shift properly. If you have a manual transmission, contact a Honda dealer for the correct lube or read your owners manual.
There is no external filter for the transmission nor is there a pan/sump. Also do not "flush" transmission fluid on this model, the small screens, filter internally will become restricted and cause fluid temp to rise
No battery.
