You open the gas cap and this will depressurize the gas lines.
open the gas cap
A refrigerant recovery machine is required.
to depressurerize the system you would simply take off the gas cap.(fuel will still be in the lines and it will spill when the lines are disconected but it would not be under pressure)
Remove gas cap and suck all gasoline from gas tank.
my 93 lesabre its under the car by the front passenger tire its just up on the firewall the lines will be labeled ---- MAKE SURE YOU DEPRESSURIZE THE FUEL LINE BEFORE SERVICING ----
the fuel filter is on the passenger side underneath the car. There will be two lines on will have a label on it saying fuel line. it will be next to the front tire <<<<<<Make sure you depressurize the line first>>>>>>>
Check your fuel cap or gas tank for leaks, or maybe the gas lines.
small hole in the tank or in lines ..even rusted lines
The car might skip or jump when given gas if the gas has water in it or if your fuel lines have air in them. This problem is not uncommon when a gas filter is clogged or dirty.
Because when your car runs out of gas there is no more gas in the fuel lines to run the motor so when you refuel it then start it there is nothing there to keep it running. The gas have to be pumped out of the tank and into the motor.
The inside of the gas tank will shine like new, but the fuel lines, fuel pump, and engine will be need to be cleaned out.
Look under the car, near the rear axle, between it and the front of the gas tank. You will see it, about the size of a soda can cut to 1/2 height with a black line running into and out of each side. The clips that hold the lines in pace can be removed with a flat headed screw driver. Be sure to first depressurize your fuel system....
