If you reach under the drivers side of the dashboard, just above the gas pedal, there is a control cable. If you turn the distribution knob and the end piece doesn't move at all then the housing for the cable has broken. It's just a plastic clip so it breaks easily. If you take some tape or super glue and put the selector knob in the proper function while you hold the clip in place it should be simple just to throw a little on the clip.
