Transmission torque converter or an exhuast catalytic converter?
how you a torque converter is bad
No car has a "cadillac" converter
My 2002 had the same issue. After trying the obvious, replacing air filter, plugs, fuel filter, etc. I had it checked and the catalytic converter was going bad. I found a bolt-on converter on usautoparts.com for about $120. Most parts stores I looked at around here were $250 and up.
A bad crankshaft position sensor will cause your Kia Sorrento to run rough. The bad crankshaft position sensor can also cause your Kia to not start.
the same as any cat, you usually plug them up with cheep gas and fuel additives.
A bad catalytic converter will cause a severely restricted exhaust system. You would notice a lack of power and performance from you vehicle and in cases of a completely blocked converter, the engine may not run.
easy way is unbolt it and look thru both ends to see if it is clogged. Could have a bad catalytic converter but i would suspect O2 sensor acting up.
Hard starting, loss of power, poor fuel mileage, and the converter will get extremely hot.
Loss of power, poor fuel economy, and converter gets extremely hot.
ohm test it.
Yes, a bad catalytic converter can cause your radiator to become hot in a 2005 Kia Sedona. When the catalytic converter is clogged or malfunctioning, it can lead to increased exhaust backpressure, which may cause the engine to run hotter than normal. This excess heat can be transferred to the radiator, leading to overheating issues. Additionally, if the engine is under stress due to poor exhaust flow, it can further contribute to elevated engine temperatures.
Depending on the year of the vehicle, the check engine light would illuminate.
