I have my moms car and the battery died, My three years old left a light on. I can't find the mechianism to open the hood to give it a hot shot. I know the hood release is in the cab but I can't open the hood.

Open the 2001 Subaru engine compartment hood. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the headlight. Remove the headlight assembly bolts. The headlight will come out. Reverse the process to install the new headlight.

on my 98 outback impreza sport: under the hood, flip open the fuse box, check diagram on underside of lid, match up with outlay of fuses. Slip a 15A fuse into the slot designated "FWD". This will disengage the AWD, and FWD should show up on on your driver side dashboard. Hope that helps!
