If the hood of your 2004 Nissan Xterra does not open after pulling the hood latch release, try gently pressing down on the hood while a second person pulls the release lever again. This can help relieve tension on the latch mechanism. If that doesn't work, you may need to access the latch directly from underneath the vehicle or use a long tool to manipulate the latch mechanism. Additionally, ensure there isn't any debris or rust that may be causing the latch to stick.
