The timing belt on a 2000 Isuzu Trooper is replaced by removing the engine accessories, taking off the timing cover and loosening the tensioner. The belt can then be slipped off the sprockets and a new timing belt put in place.
How do you put on a serpentine belt on a 2002 Isuzu axiom
Did the dodo or other birdlike running problem start when this work was done? If so, suspect that whoever put the timing belt on got one more more cam gears misaligned. If so, the timing belt will have to be taken off and put on in the correct alignment. It may also be necessary to check ignition timing after replacement of timing belt.
Please show picture of how to put on belt
have take motor and trans out 1996 Honda accord put timing belt
That engine doesn't use a timing belt.
1. Take it to the repair shop or 2. Take off the timing cover and everything in the way, put the engine on time (top dead center, where all the dots align) take off the belt, put a new one on, making sure the motor is still on time, and put everything back together
When you have the belt put back on correctly it will be back in time.
The timing belt is not difficult to replace nor is it expensive in and of itself. The problem is that the timing belt is difficult to get to. Mechanics also suggest that you replace the water pump and possibly some other components so that the the same area does not have to be dismantled in the future to do these repairs. It is not hard to get into the $400+ range.
No-there is one belt tensioner for the entire engine belt assembly. The timing belt is a serpentine belt and if it is stretched out, it will need to be replaced. There is no way to adjust the timing belt once it is put on the vehicle.
has the engine run since new timing belt put on? if not whoever did the work, didnt get the timing right.
Very much so, this engine will bend every valve depending on how fast the engine was turning when the timing belt broke, it will at times put holes in pistons.
