To read the oil dipstick on a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, first ensure the engine is off and the car is on level ground. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean with a cloth, then reinsert it fully and remove it again to check the oil level. The oil should be between the two marks on the dipstick; if it's below the lower mark, you need to add oil. Additionally, check the oil's condition; it should be a clear amber color and free of debris.
Just take out the dipstick and refill the fluid through the dipstick "channel". Make sure that you do not underfill or overfill the fluid.
