You should start from the center by the radio. then there will be screws in you arm console. remove the shift handle this is also held on by a screw probably on the bottom. lift from the rear of the console so you can tell if you still have screws in other places.
parking pawl
The parking brake is on or the transmission (automatic) or the clutch (standard) has problems.
You add some ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and hope your transmission isn't shot. Typical fill level is found with the vehicle in neutral and running (with parking brake on!) and the fluid is warm.
ignition will be turned off and keys left in ignition, transmission placed in park (automatic) or reverse (manual), parking brake set, parking lights/emergency flashers on
Possibly, if you are being aggressive with the excavator, setting the parking brake would take tension off the transmission though.
No.Most automatic transmission are checked in either park of neutral.Check the dipstick or the owners manual for more info.No.Most automatic transmission are checked in either park of neutral.Check the dipstick or the owners manual for more info.
disconnect the trans cable at trans connection with someone on brake or apply the parking brake
Broken "Parking Pawl"?
could be a sheered parking pin inside the transmission or the shifter linkage needs adjusting either way best left to a transmission shop is not to fimiliar with automatic transmissions
There is a part inside an automatic trans called a parking "pawl". When shifting to park, linkage attached to your gear selector, also attached to your trans, with engage the parking pawl. The parking pawl will only alow the front wheels (on a fwd vehicle) to roll inopposite directions from each other, thus preventing it from moving in either direction.
When parking uphill in a car with a manual transmission you should park with the transmission in what?
Assuming you have an automatic transmission, the dipstick should be located toward the rear of the engine on the passenger side. With vehicle warmed up and parking brake applied the transmission fluid is checked with the transmission in neutral.
