You'd have to get the old one out completely(drain coolant first), check the hole for any damages, apply a good quality gasket sealant and then tap/hit the new one in place without it capsizing. Put a short piece of wood across it and hit it moderately hard with a hammer, shift the position of the wooden crossmember, hit it again. Repeat until the new plug is seated. refill coolant, check for leaks.
