disconnect battery, remove air inlet hose. Disconnect 12mm nut underneath rubber boot for the battery wire. Unplug spade type connector starter signal wire. The starter is held in place by two 14mm bolts the shorter of the two being the upper bolt, the lower one, which is difficult to see, is long and passes through the transmission into the motor. Installation is a reversal of removal.

I don't have a 1988 honda civic sedan. But if someone did, and that sedan had 14 inch wheels, then yes they would fit on them.
