On a 2008 Toyota Avalon, the cabin air filter is located behind the glove box. To replace it, 1. Open the glove box. On the far right is a screw connecting the glove box to a small dash pot ( like a small shock absorber). Remove the screw and disconnect the dash pot. 2. On each side of the Glove box toward the front top, there are two ears that ride in tracks Manuever these out of there tracks ( push the side of the glove box in and the back side toward the front ). The glove box will now flop open, and behind the glove box you will see a black housing covering the cabin air filter. Release the two tabs at both the right and left of the cover and the cabin air filter will be right there. Pull it out and replace it, making sure the orient it according to the up arrow on one side of the air filter. 3. Replace the cover, put the ears back in their tracks and pull the dash pot down and reconnect with the screw.

How do you replace cabin air filter in 1995 Toyota Previa?
to my knowledge, it has no cabin filter!
I doubt if it has one. Cabin air filters appeared about 2002. Walmart carries Fram cabin air filters. Look in the Fram application catalog to see if the 97 Avalon is listed.
The cabin air filter for a 1998 Toyota Avalon XL is located behind the glove compartment. To access it, you’ll need to remove the glove compartment by unscrewing or unclipping it. Once the glove compartment is out of the way, you can find the filter housing, which typically requires a cover to be removed to replace the filter.
By not changing it, because it does not exist.
Purchase a Purotor filter. It comes with complete instructions.
